Free Culture @ NYU protests DRM at the Apple Store Midtown

Thanks to everyone who came out to our DRM protest at the Apple store today!
Defective by Design provided the catchy yellow Hazmat suits and we handed out hundreds of flyers, made lots of friends and spread the word against DRM.

[...] La protesta di alcune settimane fa organizzata da Free Culture @ NYU contro i DRM della Apple finisce su Newsweek e il discorso relativo alle protezioni fortemente volute dalle lobby dei contenuti diviene argomento di discussione mainstream allargando il suo bacino d’ascolto. In un articolato pezzo dal titolo Down with DRM?, Brian Braiker parte raccontando della manifestazione che si è tenuta a fine settembre davanti al punto vendita della Quinta Strada e non si limita a fare un resoconto della giornata. Anzi, spiega quali sono le istanze della protesta ed effettua una panoramica su campagne analoghe, come Defective by Design di Free Software Foundation, ma pure Stop DRM Now! e Digital Freedom. Nell’articolo compaiono anche alcune opinioni pro-DRM e il risultato offre un buon punto di partenza per far conoscere la questione anche a un pubblico non tecnico e, forse, nemmeno “internettizzato”.
